About
Hello New Member,
We like to welcome you here at Spring Street Baptist Church (SSBC). We like to inform on a few things that will help your worship experience. Below are some instructions to help you fall right into the church services.
Ushers will be around to help seat and greet everyone at the door. Feel free to ask them for anything you may need to help cut down walking during services. If you have any paper around you please pick up your trash and dispose of it in the right manner. Let’s help keep our church clean.
When the Word of God is being read we ask that all able bodied people would please stand to give God respect. We also ask that you do not walk during the reading of the Word and or Prayer. If you happen to come to the door and cannot get in it might because the greeters have been instructed to stop anyone from entering in at those times.
We here at SSBC have a casual attire environment so that people won’t feel out of place. We do ask that you wear appropriate clothing that’s fitting for a holy Worship environment. Ask yourself the question “Would this attire cause anyone to stare at me with the eyes of lust?” Every forth (4th ) Sunday of the month we assigned as Causal Sunday so everyone can have a chance to invite anyone who has a clothing issue.
Please raise your hands during times of Sunday school and bible study. That will help keep things in order and give the teacher control of the class. We try to accommodate students by keeping the atmosphere in a decent and orderly fashion. This is the only time that you can ask a question about the Word of God during worship times.
It’s our great pleasure to let you know that we do have a great deacon staff that will assist you in things of importance to you. There are times someone might feel that need to contact the Pastor because they feel like no one else can do it except him. We ask that you use the chain of commands. That is the purpose of the deacon to help the pastor with matters of the church that someone else can deal with while the Pastor can stay consecrated and studied up more. Always pray and consult God about any matter or issue. Remember trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lead not into thy own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path.
If ever you get frustrated and or seem to struggle you can always ask someone to help you. No one is perfect and we all deal with life. Never be afraid to ask questions. You will never learn if you never ask. A foolish question is the question that was never asked.
